Eunice, La. Homicide
January 10, 2006

On the morning of January 10, 2006, at approximately 9:30 AM, the bodies of an elderly couple were discovered in their home on 231 Boudreau Street in Eunice, La. The couple was identified as Youric Courville, an eighty-three year old male, and his wife, Mary Courville, age seventy.

The investigation indicated the couple had been brutally stabbed to death sometime within the previous twenty-four hours of discovery of thier bodies. The motive is believed to be Robbery.

 SOLVED    In December of 2011, Warren "Boo Boo" Gautreaux , age 51, of Eunice, Louisiana and Quinten Ceaser, age 34, also of Eunice, Louisiana were arrested  and charged with 2 counts of 1st  degree murder. 

Atchafalaya Spillway Homicide
May 31, 1999

On May 31st, 1999, two fishermen were checking their nets in the West Atchafalaya Spillway levee canal when they found the body of a young black male floating near shore about five miles south of Hwy 190. He was clothed only in his underwear.

An autopsy was performed and finerprints were taken. He was identified as Christopher C. Fields, twenty-one years of age who at the time of death, still lived with his family in Opelousas, La.

As of today, Mr. Fields` clothing have not been found and authorities are treating his death as a homicide.

Sunset, La. Homicide
October 02, 1993

The victim, Cynthia Devillier, a twenty-seven year old white female had returned home from work the afternoon of October 1, 1993, and spoke briefly with her landlord before retiring for the night.

Miss Devillier lived alone in her apartment, and had been there for over four years without incident. On October 2nd, 1993 when she failed to leave for work, her landlord went to check on her and found her dead. There was no sign of forced entry, no struggle, and nothing seems to have been touched. The autopsy indicated that she died of strangulation.
