The program is all about providing a tool that students can use to help keep them safe in school, a problem many of us adults cannot identify with. If our children are to go to school and learn to be productive members of society, we must provide a safe environment for that to take place in. Up until now, our school kids had no way to safely tell authorities about the bad things they knew about without fearing reprisal. Now we have that problem solved. “Student Crime Stoppers” provides a safe and foolproof method to not only sharpen their sense of duties to do what is right (ensuring the safety of themselves as well as their fellow students) but also provides a way to be financially compensated for their efforts.
The biggest concern when planning this program is the safety of the students, which is being addressed prior to implementation. The key ingredient to this recipe is the anonymity factor which cannot be stressed enough for their own safety. “Student Crime Stoppers” guarantees anonymity through the use of the well established and proven protocol used by the regular Crime Stoppers Program for reporting crimes. The point of contact at the school shall be the principal or his/her designee.

When to Call
If you aren't sure that what you saw or heard is really a crime, call anyway. Let the police decide if it's worth investigating. It may be a piece of a clue to a big crime.
